The Zanu PF party in Bulawayo which is on a restructuring exercise has offered support to the business community in the city whose shops were looted and burnt in January this year by cleaning up their premises.

Speaking to the ZBC News while conducting a clean-up exercise in Magwegwe suburb, Deputy National Political Commissar Cde Omega Hungwe said Zanu PF has decided to assist the business community which was left counting its losses following the looting and destruction of shops witnessed in January.

 “Silapho eMagwegwe koMabhodoko lapho esicleana khona ishop eyadilizwa ngabantu beopposition (We are in Mabhodoko, Magwegwe where we are cleaning a shop that was destroyed by opposition supporters).

“Sithunywe ngumongameli ukuzelungisa amabranch akoBulawayo (We have been sent by the President to revamp our branches in Bulawayo),” said Cde Hungwe.

Senator Molly Mpofu said they will continue supporting the business community to restock and rebuild their businesses.

The restructuring of Zanu PF structures in Bulawayo culminated with the party’s victory in the ward 28 by-election.

Zanu-PF is currently conducting a restructuring exercise following the dissolution of Bulawayo and Harare provinces’ structures.
