rukia-nakadama.jpgThe African women delegation that was in the country for the women conference has commended Zimbabwean women politicians’ unity of purpose that transcends political affiliation.


During the 3 day International Women’s Conference that ended on Friday, women in the 3 political parties were commended for the unity that dissolved political differences for them to work together to achieve the same goal.


In an interview with ZBC News, Namibian Deputy Minister for Gender and Child Welfare, Angelika Muharukua said during the conference, the political divide was dissolved as women fought for one cause showing love and appreciation to each other.

Ugandan Minister of Gender and Culture, Ms Nakadama Rukia said Zimbabwean women are united and the situation in Zimbabwe is contrary to what the media portrays.


The presence of the 2 top women leaders in Zimbabwe in Vice President Joice Mujuru and Deputy Prime Minister Thokozani Khupe for the conference and the sight of them working together was described by the delegation as inspiring.


The ministers that were there from the 3 political parties also exhibited cooperation as they sat, sung and embraced each other.
