The European Union (EU) says Zimbabwe should move forward with the reform agenda as well as economic reforms that it has committed to.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Ambassador James Manzou, the EU Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Timo Olkkonen said the EU is ready to support Zimbabwe in its political and economic reforms agenda.
“The EU is providing financial support, for example in the constitutional alignment process in efforts to improve the access to justice in public financial management,” said Ambassador Olkkonen.
He said the EU is supportive of African Union (AU) mediation efforts in Sudan to try and bring civilian rule and facilitate progress.
Ambassador Olkkonen added that the European block will also investigate on human rights violations in Sudan.
