China through the Sino-Zim Wildlife Foundation is working on a number of wildlife conservation strategies, the latest being provision of supplementary food to save the country’s elephant population which has been hit hard the drought situation.
The move is contrary to Western countries proposing a trophy hunting ban on Zimbabwe.
The Foundation has been instrumental in conservation programmes in Zimbabwe including a donation of drones, boats, a helicopter, and a glider to boost the anti-poaching drive.
The Sino-Zim Wildlife Foundation is targeting to raise an additional $80K towards the supplementary feed programme for elephants by end of this year as noted by its Founder Ms. Li Song.
