The ongoing public hearings on the Constitutional Amendment Bill Number One had to be abandoned after unruly elements disrupted proceedings in Marondera.
Chaos erupted just after the proceedings began at the public hearings on the Constitutional Amendment Bill Number One outreach programme.
The persistent noise left members of the Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Parliamentary Portfolio Committee helpless as they failed to control the crowds.
After more than half an hour of chaos, the committee brought to an end the proceedings with Chairman Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi expressing disappointment.
The public consultations will continue until the end of the week.
The portfolio committee is gathering views on the bill which will then be tabulated and presented in the form of a report.
It will then be tabled before parliament at the second reading stage.
