Thousands of people attended the official launch of the Zanu PF campaign in Buhera South where party supporters were urged to vote for the ruling party in order to maintain the economic growth trajectory being spearheaded by the new dispensation.

The internal democracy within Zanu PF was seen when the party opened up the primary election race to many people with the electorate being given the choice to select their representatives.

Politburo member and Chitepo Ideological College Principal, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, who officially opened the campaign process in Buhera South, said internal  party democracy that saw people being given the choice to elect their representative should see the party winning resoundingly in the harmonised elections as they will be voting for candidates of their choice.

“Victory is certain if people unite and vote for Zanu PF candidates during the harmonised elections scheduled for 30 July. What we have done as a party is to ensure that the will of the people prevails by holding primary elections. Now, party internal democracy entails that losers accept the results and move on as one family to campaign for all wining candidates and President Emmerson Mnangagwa next month,” he said.

Cde Machacha also said the party manifesto that provides a paradigm shift on the issue of international relations gives the country hope of accelerated development with its implementation now attracting foreign direct investments needed to stimulate economic growth.

The local National Assembly member, Cde Joseph Chinotimba said victory is certain for the party in Buhera South.

“The country is on a positive economic trajectory that can only be accelerated with a landslide victory that will foster continuity on the projects being implemented by the Zanu PF government,” he said.

The launch of campaign rally in Buhera South has set the tone for more campaign rallies as the ruling Zanu PF party is set to retain the constituency that is largely its stronghold.
