The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Dr Washington Mbizvo has hailed Zimbabweâ€™s institutions of higher learning for embracing Information and Communication Technology (ICTs).
In his address at the 54th Mutare Teachers College graduation ceremony this Friday, Dr Mbizvo said the institutionsâ€™ thrust of embracing ICTs has already started paying dividends through the provision of quality education whose benefits cut across social and economic divides.
He said despite various challenges that continue to confront the nation, the country is not lagging behind in technological advancement and as such, it country will continue churning out quality teachers who are envied both locally and outside our borders..
Speaking at the same occasion, the Principal of Mutare Teachers College, mr Jaison Muwandi said the institution has fused the ever changing trends in the education curriculum in order to produce graduands responsive to national demands.
The Mutare Teachers College graduation, which was held under the theme, â€˜towards strengthening secondary education delivery system through producing a rebranded teacher,â€™ saw more than 352 graduands being conferred with Diplomas in Teacher Education.
