Youths in universities have been warned to desist from any form of violence and concentrate on their education in a peaceful Zimbabwe.
Violence in universities has been condemned by the Student Advocate for Violence Prevention Club (SAVP) at Catholic University where knowledge fair was held this Friday.
Speaking to the ZBC News on the sidelines of the knowledge fair held at the campus in Harare, club chairperson, Mr Abel Tazvivinga said the aim is to impart knowledge to all students from tertiary institutions about the dangers of violence.
“We want to encourage universities to come up with solutions for the promotion of zero tolerance to violence within their campuses as well as in their communities,” he said.
Students who attended the fair said they have leant a lot of issues from different stakeholders who graced the event.
Catholic University Director for Marketing and Public Relations, Mrs Monica Mureriwa said they would want to mould students who are capable of interacting with others at all levels.
“We are allowing our students to interact with different organisation on real life situations that affects them,” she said.
A number of universities have of late been involved in and affected by violence, a situation that needs urgent address.
