Former judo national team captain and 1980 Moscow Olympics player, Franns Fyfer says upcoming judokas should ride on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to curve their names in the sport.

Fyfer, who was speaking during the inaugural Brian Warren tournament held in honor of one of the founding fathers of the sport in the country, admitted that the Olympics are the biggest sporting extravaganza in the world, hence upcoming judokas should shine on stage.

Fyfer, who is now resident in Limpopo, South Africa said judo is developing in the country, courtesy of the Japanese, who have shown keen interest to bring personnel to hold judo workshops in the country.

The former national team captain reminisces his Moscow experience in 1980 was one of the turning point of his career.
