Parents in Usanga high density suburb in Chipinge have partnered the Ministry of Education to construct the only primary school in the area with the community targeting to build state of the art structures.

Some of the children who used to learn in squalid conditions in Usanga high density suburb now have decent classrooms after the construction of Makochoredze Primary School.

Speaking during the official opening of a new block, Chipinge district schools inspector Richard Gabaza said the construction of the first state of the art block at Makochoredze Primary School is a result of team work.

Schools Development Committee chairperson, Mr Caiphas Mwarodza said the construction of new classroom blocks brings relief not only to school authorities but also to parents as students previously learnt in wooden make shift classrooms.

He however called for more support to construct additional classrooms to accommodate all students.

Chipinge urban has a serious shortage of schools that can absorb thousands of pupils in the town because of the growing population.
