The late founding father of Zimbabwe and Former President, Cde Robert Mugabe will now be buried in his communal home in Zvimba.

The date is yet to be announced, in a statement, the Permanent Secretary in the Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Ministry, Mr Nick Mangwana said the  Mugabe family has expressed its desire to have the former president  buried in Zvimba.

He also said that government is cooperating with the Mugabe family in their new position in line with the Governments’ policy  to respect the  families of deceased heroes.

The late former president, who was declared a national hero, was originally supposed to be buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare, in a mausoleum that was still under  construction.

The former president died at the age of 95 on the 6th of September in Singapore where he was receiving treatment.

He died from cancer after chemotherapy treatment was stopped because it was no longer effective.
