Zanu PF Matabeleland Province has been urged to step up efforts in rebuilding all organs of the party and mobilising prospective voters to register to participate in the forthcoming elections.
The remarks were made by the Zanu PF provincial chairman Cde Rabelani Choene during a party meeting held at Mabheka Secondary School in West Nicholson.
As the biometric voter registration (BVR) mop up exercise closing dates approach, calls for prospective voters to register for the forthcoming elections have continued to grow louder.
Cde Choene reminded party members that with elections now a few months away there is need to step up efforts in strengthening party structures and encouraging youths to vote.
He said the election campaign period will be announced once the date for the election has been proclaimed adding that Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa is the party’s sole presidential candidate.
The new Zanu PF leadership expects members to be loyal and committed to the party not to individuals, added Zanu PF Politburo member Cde Abednico Ncube.
The meeting was also told that two members of parliament Cde Madodana Sibanda of Gwanda North and Gwanda Central’s Cde Edison Gumbo were relegated to the cell level for being foot soldiers of the ousted G40 faction.
Some members of the women and youth leagues in Gwanda district were also redeployed for the same reason.
