A 27-year-old man has appeared in court on allegations of theft involving two mobile gold milling machines worth US$50 000.
27-year-old, Anesu Pariyani, has appeared before Mutare magistrates court on allegations of theft after he allegedly stole two mobile gold milling machines worth US$50 000 from Listerfill Investments Company.
Pariyani was remanded to the 25th of this month on $50 bail.
The two mobile gold milling machines were left at Mutare war veterans premises for safekeeping in July last year.
It is alleged that in December last year, Pariyani took one of the machines and sold it in Harare without the owner’s consent.
The court heard that in August this year, Pariyani tendered a fake document that authorised him to take the second machine which he sold again.
The complainant eventually realised that his machines were missing in September this year and reported the matter to the police.
Investigations by the police led to Pariyani’s arrest.
