The Zimbabwe senior national football team, Warriors, forward, Tinotenda Kadewere, who plies his trade in France, has been ruled out of the Warriors back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers set for next week, after sustaining a hamstring injury this Friday.

The Warriors have been dealt a major blow after striker Tinotenda Kadewere sustained a  hamstring injury in Le Havre’s 2-nil defeat to Souchax last night.

The Zimbabwe international and French Ligue 2 leading goalscorer limped off and was replaced on the hour mark leaving the Warriors technical department with a headache.

Warriors Team Manager, Wellington Mpandare confirmed the development after receiving confirmation from the player and his team.

“I can confirm that Tino has been ruled out of the Afcon qualifiers set for next week due to the hamstring injury he sustained last night. Kadewere was part of the 24-member squad for the two Afcon 2021 Group H qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia slated for next week, so the technical team has to replace him,” said Mpandare.

The Warriors will get into camp beginning this Sunday, ahead of their Afcon qualifier against Botswana next Friday, before travelling to Zambia for a date against Chipolopolo on the 19th.
