Hwange FC has set itself a target of winning the 2019 Premier Soccer League on their return to the top flight league.

In what will be a fairy tale, the bullish club formed in 1940 believes it has what it takes to land itself the first championship trophy and third silverware in their history in the top flight.

After back to back triumphs in the Castle Cup finals in 1972 and 1973 as well as lifting the ZIFA Cup in 1991, the trophy cabinet at the Colliery has been gathering dust with relegation to the lower division a familiar feature.

The last one was in 2016 with the side only making its way back for this impending campaign after ruling the roost in the ZIFA Southern Region Division 1 last season.

Head coach, Nation Dube believes he has the boys that can battle and upset PSL powerhouses to land the crown come the end of the season.

While the side is largely made of youngsters, it also boast of experienced players such as Felix Chindungwe, the age defying Gilbert Zulu, Gerald Ndlovu, Andrew Tshuma and Munyaradzi Mungadze.

It is to be seen if the Colliery Stadium will once again be turned into a furnace for torturing visiting teams come the start of the season.
