The Harare Volleyball Association (HVA) is targeting to increase the number of teams for the Zone Six Championships after eight of the sent teams in last year’s edition did the country proud.
A flagship of Zimbabwean volleyball, the HVA is contemplating on sending more teams to the championships after a decent show in last year’s competitions.
In the male competitions, Support Unit claimed gold while UZ settled for silver with Harare City winning gold in the ladies category.
“Riding on the precedence set by the clubs we sent for the Zone Six Championships, we want to do more this season including the participation of inter-provincial tournaments which were not participating,” said Mandlenkosi Ndlovu, the HVA Chairman.
Now in its second week, the HVA league has already seen Chinhoyi University joining the league title chase.
In other matches played over the weekend, UZ Wolves beat Prisons 3-nil in the men’s category while Naba thrashed new comers Chinhoyi University 3-0 and Black Rhinos beat Police Protection Unit 3-nil.
