Churu Farm residents say they are confident moves by the City of Harare to bring sanity to the area will assist its development.
The residents, who attended a meeting organised by Harare South legislator, Cde Shadreck Mashayamombe following cases where individuals were now allocating themselves land in undesignated areas, expressed hope that regularisation will bring about sanity.
Cde Mashayamombe said allocation of the stands to the residents of Churu Farm is in line with Zanu PF’s aspirations to have Zimbabweans owning their own houses in tandem with the ZIMASSET blueprint.
Councillor Rai Gwenyambira said layout plans for housing development as well as facilities such as schools, clinics, recreation facilities and churches are being worked on.
The City of Harare has been on a drive to regularise many areas in and around the capital after individuals and cooperatives had illegally allocated themselves land.
