Cde Shamu made the remarks at the Harare Provincial Inter-District Conference held in the capital this Saturday.
The Conference was held to take stock of the party’s performance in implementing resolutions passed at the 2009 and 2010 Mutare National People’s Congress.
Addressing delegates who included some members of the Politburo, Central Committee and the Harare district leadership, Cde Webster Shamhu said the party is regaining its position in Harare as well as other urban areas as the people are now realising that the MDC has nothing to offer.
Cde Shamu said the party will continue to craft people centered programmes that are aimed at addressing people’s needs as well as demonstrate in a practical way that Zanu PF stands for the interests of the masses.
Harare Province Chairman, Ambassador Amos Midzi acknowledged that as an urban province the party is faced with many challenges among them issues of unemployment and service delivery.
He however said Zanu PF leadership is restructuring the party structures from cell level upwards to tally the sold Zanu PF cards and the membership on the ground.
The Inter-district Conference is aimed at fulfilling the party’s constitutional requirement Section 112 and 113 that demands two Inter-district Conferences per province annually.
