The Harare Province 2017 Propol’s Sports Gala was held at Vinona High School in the capital where hundreds of police officers competed in 15 different sporting disciplines.
The officer commanding Harare Province sports gala was also used to select a provincial team to compete at this year’s ZRP Commissioner-General of Police sports gala in April.
It was a hive of sporting activity at the Zimbabwe Republic Police Harare Province sports gala held at Vinona High School where hundreds of police officers drawn from the six districts battled for honours.
This year’s Harare Province Propol’s sports gala saw Harare Province Headquarters, Mbare, Suburban, Harare South, Chitungwiza and Harare Central competing for honours.
The officer commanding police Harare Province Senior Assistant Commissioner Elias Mvere commended the participation and inclusion of women whom he said displayed high level sporting and competitiveness with vigour and vitality in all sporting disciplines.
The six districts competed in ballgames that include football, netball, rugby, tennis, netball and volleyball, track and field, chess and darts among other events that were also used to select athletes to represent the province in the Commissioner General of Police sports gala scheduled for 7-13 April 2017.
The sports development programme is also aimed at enhancing the interactive experiences across the rank and file of the police force.
