The Radition Protection Authority of Zimbabwe today [Sunday] joined the rest of the world in supporting the goals of world cancer declaration by 2020 that are meant to reduce illness and death caused by cancer.

World Cancer Day is commemorated internationally on the 4th of February each year to raise awareness of cancer and encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.

Radiation Protection Authority of Zimbabwe in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Child Care is working on modalities to provide technical advice in radiation related issues for the safety and nuclear security of patients.

The World Cancer Day was founded by the Union of International Cancer Control to support the goals of world cancer declaration to reduce the number of deaths by 2020.
