The year 2011 was a remarkable year, with government achieving a lot in terms of improving the economic outlook of the country.

Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere  said whilst Zimbabwe recorded a significant improvement in terms of the empowerment drive, his Ministry will intensify efforts to ensure that indigenous Zimbabweans get a stake from the country’s resources in the year 2012.

The Minister for Information Communication Technology, Mr. Nelson Chamisa said 2011 came with relative successes in terms of improvements in the information communication and technology area and added that 2012 promises to be a better year.

Amongst the achievements that government can boast of in the year 2011 is the awarding of the green light to sell diamonds, whilst the tourism ministry also won an award for excellence in the industry and it also managed to win the bid to co-host the United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Assembly in 2013 together with Zambia.

As the country is on the brink of entering a New Year, one can only hope that the country’s aspirations are achieved whilst people’s lives are improved significantly.
