The First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has taken the national clean-up campaign program to rural communities as women in Mhondoro Ngezi become the first beneficiaries of the initiative.
The First Lady sponsored prices for the smartest household competition spearheaded by the Yemurai Club which is led by the wife of Chief Mushava.
The club embraced the national clean-up campaign program and introduced a competition for cleanliness which saw winners walking away with food hampers and bicycles.
Amai Mnangagwa commended the move to have a cleanliness competitions saying they go a long way in promoting healthy life.
“I am very impressed by this kitchen it is my wish that this model kitchen be adopted by women living in rural areas, it is a pleasure to be in such a setting. I will work with you to support your projects.”
Amai Mnangagwa commended the involvement of traditional leadership is important in bringing development in rural communities.
The First Lady also took the time to go to marginalized communities where she donated groceries to the vulnerable members.
She also took time to hear the challenges being faced in the communities.
