St Luke’s Hospital in Lupane is set to resume specialised services following First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa’s donation of equipment, furniture and foodstuffs this Friday.

The inferno had brought hospital operations to a halt as all equipment including cervical cancer screening equipment for the district were razed down leaving many departments at the hospital incapacitated.

Amai Mnangagwa donated critical equipment and furniture that will ensure resumption of suspended services at the hospital.

The first lady who is also the country’s Health Ambassador, said she could not sit back and watch after the situation at the hospital was brought to her attention.

The first lady who was conducting a cleanup exercise at the hospital which is situated in Matabeleland North Province also took time to assess the extent of damage caused by an inferno that engulfed the pseudo provincial referral in July this year.

The inferno had brought hospital operations to a halt as all equipment including cervical cancer screening equipment for the district were razed down leaving many departments incapacitated.

St Luke’s is a Roman Catholic mission hospital situated in Kusile District, about 120km from Bulawayo along the Victoria Falls Road and is the biggest hospital in the province.
