A Mbare based -midwife who has become an instant heroine for helping desperate mothers has touched the heart of the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa who recognised her efforts and gave her some groceries and blankets.

This comes after ZBC News in a report by Abigirl Tembo highlighted Mbuya Gwena’s heroic deeds on the Main News Bulletin on Thursday night.

The First Lady this Friday paid a visit to Mai Gwena’s Mbare residence.  Mai Gwena helped a woman deliver a baby girl whose mother named her Auxillia in honour of the first lady.

“The job being done hear is very massive, may God continue to bless you,” said Amai Mnangagwa.

The First Lady brought blankets and groceries, a gesture which was welcomed by Mbuya Gwena and some of her neighbours as she was struggling to feed the new mothers.

“She is God sent and I really appreciate the gesture,” said Mbuya Gwena.

Tagarika Flats residents welcomed the First Lady’s visit as they jostled to catch a glimpse of her.
