104students.jpgIn what is set to be a major boost for the country’s education sector, government says it has attained the one student one text book ratio in all primary schools in Harare under the Education Transitional Fund (ETF).

Speaking during a handover of text books and computers at a local college in Chitungwiza, Harare’s Acting Deputy Provincial Education Director, Mrs Joyce Maphosa said government is now targeting secondary schools under the same initiative.

Budiriro Junior Member of Parliament, Honourable Tinashe Rufurwadzo and Herental College’s Executive Director, Mr Emmanuel Mahachi said the provision of text books in schools is essential in the attainment of Millennium Development Goal number two.

Recently, a visiting Greek Orthodox Church delegation from Cyprus hailed Zimbabwe’s education system which was described as having a pedigree to compete with the world’s best if adequate resources are availed.
