Organisers of yesterday’s Economic Renaissance Summit, Human Talent Development Africa rated the event as a huge success as it brought Zimbabwe’s economic recovery journey by the new administration into spotlight.
The summit which ran under the theme, “Taming the Wild for Economic Recovery” featured prominent Kenyan lawyer and anti-corruption campaigner Professor Patrick Lumumba as the keynote speaker.
Human Talent Development Africa consultant Mrs Angelbetta Madzinga said bringing in Professor Lumumba to the summit was no coincidence but was motivated by his progressive views on the African growth and development agenda.
“We realised that this was the right time for us to have these discussions around how Zimbabwe can move out of its difficult economic situation and Professor Lumumba triggered a big discussion on how Zimbabwe can overcome its challenges to achieve its middle income country status,” she said.
The straight talking Professor Lumumba gave an account on how Zimbabweans should effectively deal with existing challenges to achieve economic and political emancipation.
The government’s tax collecting body ZIMRA came in as summit sponsors which was broadcast live by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation which chipped in as a media partner.
Mrs Madzinga revealed a plan to bring Professor Lumumba to Zimbabwe again early next year for another conference.
