Despite her old age and disability, a 67-year-old Epworth woman has managed to put a smile on the faces of several orphaned and vulnerable children in her community.
For many people, disability is a symbol of inability but for 67-year-old Regina Mangwanya, broken limbs from an accident years back have not deterred her from accomplishing her childhood dream of care giving.
The woman moves around on crutches since 2013 but takes care of dozens of orphans and underprivileged children in Overspill, Epworth, with aid from well-wishers.
The inspiration according to Mangwanya comes from her childhood experiences where she grew up in a broken home.
Mangwanya is however determined to continue towards achieving her cause despite her condition.
As the saying goes, it takes a community to raise a child, these children are among many other poor souls whose destiny has been robbed by life circumstances.
However, for the kind-hearted, it is not too late to offer a helping hand.
