chipawo.jpgZimbabwean children will participate along with children from 19 other countries, in the World Festival for Children’s Theatre, to kick off on Friday 18 June in Germany.

In Germany, the Harare Junior group will perform their play ‘Chipo and the Bird’ which features a rich musical and dance culture.

This is not the first time that Chipawo has participated in the world festival.

The group will also participate in workshops, interact with other children in the Park of Dreams programme – which is an exhibition of their countries’ cultures, arts and crafts.

Director of Chipawo, Dr Robert McLaren said the exposure of these children to the World Festival of Children’s Theatre is beneficial because they will interact with those coming from different artistic backgrounds as they will also become ambassadors for their respective countries.

The World Festival of Children’s Theatre brings together children between the ages of 8 and 14 from countries all over the world.
