Chegutu West constituency has begun rolling out stands on 500 hectares of land which was initially provided by the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing five years ago.

Residents in the area are set to benefit from the land which was initially provided for housing by the ministry as part of the drive to clear the national housing backlog.

Chegutu West house of assembly member Cde Dexter Nduna has however warned the MDC-T council not to frustrate government efforts by ensuring the local authority plays its part in ensuring residents get serviced stands.

The residents have also called on the local council to give them payment schemes for the land to create a win-win situation where both parties contribute to the development of the unserviced area.
