The Zimbabwe Sevens Rugby National Team, the Cheetahs, which go into camp in preparation for the Hong Kong Sevens Tournament in less than a week, have expressed confidence that they will claim the scalps of some giants.
Hoping to build on a famous 14-5 shield victory over Kenya at the George Sevens Tournament in South Africa in December last year, the Cheetahs are upbeat of causing some upsets at the Hong Kong Sevens tournament.
Cheetahs team manager, Bruce Hobson says all is in place as the Zim sevens team begin preparations for the Hong Kong sevens event, by assembling for camp on the 14th of this month.
Foreign based players called into camp include United Kingdom based Shingai Chiwanga, German based Manasah Seta and South African based players such as Joey Sibanda, Gardner Nechironga and Graham Kaulback, who will team up with locals Fortune Chipendu, Njabulo Ndlovu and Jacques Laetao among others.
The fifth leg of the Sevens World Series will see the Zimbabwe sevens team battling it out with Australia, Canada and Argentina in Pool F.
Argentina will be familiar foes for the Cheetahs having won 14-4 in an encounter in Dubai last year.
The Hong Kong Sevens begins on the 25th of this month with 24 teams from around the world set to take part.
