The $5 million milling plant at Blue Ribbon Foods in Harare is nearing completion with revelations that the plant will be up and running before the second quarter of this year.

Following the successful completion of a $40 million deal with Tanzanian milling giant Bakhresa Group in 2015, the firm is now rejuvenated and is forecasting rapid growth in its capacity utilisation with the possibility to explore the export market.

The massive investment into the new plant is expected to create further employment, but it’s the confidence by the investor in recapitalising what appeared to be a hopeless situation.

The revitalisation of this milling plant will also add to ensure sustained supply of mealie meal and flour products on the domestic front.
