arv.jpgMashonaland East Governor and Resident Minister, Cde Aeneas Chigwedere says the government is committed to seeing all people living with HIV and AIDS having access to anti-retroviral drugs, ARV’s.

In a speech read on his behalf at a belated World Aids Day commemorations held at Rukawo Secondary School in Mtoko District, Cde Chigwedere said it is the government’s mandate to provide adequate healthcare to all Zimbabweans.

The number of people living with HIV and AIDS on anti-retroviral therapy in Mashonaland East Province, increased by more than 7000 in 2010.

Provincial Co-ordinator, Mr Wilfred Dube attributed the increase to the setting up of outreach centres in all the provinces, nine districts, as previously only Mtoko-Mudzi had such centres.
