Athletes, coaches and technical officials that excelled during the 2017 sporting calendar will be rewarded for their efforts at the Annual National Sports Awards (ANSA) which will be held in the capital on the 13th of December.
As the year comes to a close the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has begun the process of preparing for the ANSA.
With nominations set to close this Friday, SRC communications officer Tirivashe Nheweyembwa is pleased by the response of national sports associations.
The SRC has retained the title sponsors of an event which recognises the feats of athletes competing locally and on the international stage.
The judges’ panel is expected to unveil the list of nominees on the 15th of this month.
Charles Manyuchi is the reigning ANSA sportsperson of the year but is likely to surrender that crown after losing his WBC silver-weight title earlier this year.
