The Angel of Hope Foundation Manicaland Chapter and the Girls of Substance Movement have been launched during St Augustine’s Heritage Memorial Conference in Penhalonga.

Angel of Hope Foundation patron, the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa said the launch of two projects that share the same vision is an important step towards empowerment and emancipation of women and the girl child, among other marginalised groups of society.

In a speech read on her behalf by Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs, Cde Oppah Muchinguri – Kashiri, Amai Mnangagwa reiterated her commitment to protect marginalised communities and expressed her support for the Girls of Substance Movement which strives to academically empower the girl child to ensure sustainable development.

The Minister of information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Cde Monica Mutsvangwa, Manicaland Minister of State Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba and the Deputy Minister of Youth, Arts, Sport and Recreation Cde Yeukai Simbanegavi gave solidarity messages and pledged to support the noble initiatives being promoted by the First Lady.

Meanwhile, the First Lady donated an assortment of clothes and shoes to various old people’s homes and orphanages in the province.
