vusi mavimbela.jpgSouth African Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Vusi Mavimbela, says as the ANC carries out its centenary celebrations, the liberation movement will be reflecting on its relations with Zimbabwe, a country with which it shares common challenges.

While pointing out that the struggle has graduated from a political nature after the dislodging of the two countries’ former colonisers, South African’s top diplomat in Zimbabwe emphasised that the ongoing celebrations are being held in the context of shared history where both Zimbabwe and South Africa are faced with  common social and economic challenges.

Ambassador Mavimbela noted that the ANC centenary celebrations are not only important within South Africa, but even in Zimbabwe as the two nations sailed through difficult colonial periods.

The ANC is holding its centenary celebrations in the South African town of Bloemfontein with various liberation movements from across Africa taking part in solidarity with Africa oldest liberation movement.
