Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Rugare Gumbo says all is set for hosting the party’s 11th Annual People’s National Conference in Mutare.
Confirming the party’s readiness for the conference, Cde Gumbo said buses have been dispatched to all provinces to pick up delegates.
Cde Gumbo also said the distribution of party regalia is underway at the party’s headquarters in Harare.
“All is set for the conference and the party is ready. Buses have been dispatched to all provinces to pick up delegates and the distribution of the party’s regalia is underway at the party’s headquarters,” Cde Gumbo said.
With a day left before the conference kicks off, Zanu PF Secretary for Finance, Cde David Karimanzira said despite the financial challenges that the party has endured, everyone is confident that Mutare will witness one of the most successful conferences in the history of Zanu PF.
“Despite the financial challenges, the conference will be hosted successifully,” said Cde Karimanzira.
The confirmation of Zanu PF’s readiness to host a successful conference, comes after the Zanu PF Politburo met on Monday to polish up the conference agenda.
Among the issues to be discussed is the state of the party, the political situation in the country, the economic situation of the country, media and information technologies, social services, transport and infrastructure.
Analysts believe that the conference will set the tone for the party’s campaign in next year’s elections.
Running from the 15th to the 19th of December, under the theme: ‘Total Control of our Resources through Indigenisation and Empowerment,’ the conference is expected to consolidate Zanu PF’s position on Indigenisation.
