As the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Community Assistance Week progresses, Mazunga Primary School in Matepatepa in Bindura has benefitted from the programme through donations of school furniture by the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ).
Students at Mazunga Primary School used to sit on the floor, a situation which was threatening the school’s public examination centre status but the school finally got a relief after a donation of furniture by the AFZ.
Speaking at the occasion, AFZ Commander, Air Marshall Perence Shiri highlighted that the donation is part of the Air Force’s contribution to the community.
In Victoria Falls, a number of people have also benefited from an eye cataract removal programme by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.
Meanwhile in Harare, AFZ is also embarking on a cleaning and maintenance programme at Mashambanzou, Danhiko and Matthew Rusike children’s home.
The community assistance week is a project carried out by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces in the first week of August every year as a way of assisting communities in which they operate.
