The creation of green belts in all the country’s provinces takes shape this week when the A1 model with an average of 50 hectares under irrigation will be launched in Siyalima, Guruve.

The Siyalima A1 model is an inclusive structure which comprises of an irrigation scheme, water body, orchard and a plantation, and the government envisages to adopt the model across the country.

Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Minister, Advocate Martin Dinha and his delegation toured the project with a view to assess progress ahead of the official launch this Wednesday.

Besides the government programme of providing food security within communities, a political programme will take place at the same venue as citizens are expected to meet with their President and Zanu PF presidential candidate in the forthcoming elections, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The Siyalima A1 model is expected to benefit close to 50 households and the community at large.

This is in line with the government’s thrust of encouraging food security at household level.
