Mashonaland Central province has reached half a million figure for people who have registered under the Biometric Voters Registration programme with the political leadership promising more than 400 000 votes for Zanu PF in the coming elections.
This was revealed in Guruve where President Emmerson Mnangagwa launched an irrigation scheme.
Addressing thousands of party supporters, Zanu PF Mashonaland Central province chairman Cde Kazembe Kazembe said the province is set to surpass previous records for presidential votes to beyond 400 000 while the party’s National Political Commissar Retired Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje said it is important for the electorate to know their polling station.
President Mnangagwa who is also the revolutionary party presidential candidate in the forthcoming elections preached peace, unity and development, saying there is need to vote for Zanu PF to preserve the history of the country.
The Zanu PF elections machinery is on the ground with the first rally attracting a bumper crowd as party supporters wanted to meet with their new leadership.
