Pitbulls once again showed their dominance as they won all their matches on day 3 of the 5 series Exide 7s rugby tournament at Belgravia Sports Club in Harare this Saturday.
The tournament’s highest-ranked team and last year’s losing finalists Pitbulls again showed their prowess winning 3 of their fixtures against Mabvuku, Zambezi Stars and Old Hararians but this time with smaller margins.
Shingi Vere, Secretary of the Harare Province Rugby Board, said the level of competition is getting higher as the tournament progresses.
“As you have witnessed this tournament is getting more exciting and tougher you can actually tell from the smaller winning margins at this stage unlike in the pool games,” he said
For the sponsors, the ultimate goal of the tournament is to help the Cheetahs as they try to qualify for the Olympic games.
“We know these teams are playing for the prize but ultimately we want to assist the Cheetahs to qualify for the Olympics” says Pamela Mugare Chloride Zimbabwe representative
Next week the tournament goes into day 4 with more of the same exciting action expected as teams will be playing for top spots in the run-up to the grand finale on the 24th of this month.
