manuelbagorro.jpgPreparations for the 11th edition of HIFA are at an advanced stage with dates having been set while artists taking part have confirmed.


Organisers of the countries premier Arts festival, Harare International Festival of Arts, HIFA, say all is set for the 11th edition of the show which is set for the 27th of April to the 2nd  of May, with big names in the entertainment industry such as Salif Keita and the Magnets, expected to take part.


This year’s festival which is pitted to be one of the largest ever since it was founded in 1999, will run from the 27th of April to the 2nd of May under the theme,“About Face”, which HIFA’s Founder and Artistic Director Manuel Bagorro says is in line with their campaign for the arts industry to look for new directions and imagining new possibilities.


The festival will also see young artists rubbing shoulders with big names such as 61 year old Mali’s Afro-pop star, Salif Keita and Magnets from Britain.


Other artists from Gambia, Botswana, South Africa among other nations have already confirmed their participation at the arts extravaganza.


On the local scene, Sulumani Chimbetu, Alexio Kawara and African Destiny are some of the participants taking part.


The festival is expected to help connect artists from different nations with different talents with a link that will help them to collaborate and nurture the beauty in artistic works around the globe.
