Clerk of Parliament, Mr Austin Zvoma has dismissed as baseless and shallow allegations by MDC legislators that he is incompetent.Refuting incompetence claims from MDC legislators, Mr Zvoma said he is professional in his execution of parliamentary duties, adding that the formations have no power to fire him.
“These parliamentarians have no power to fire me or even pass a vote of no confidence since my post is a constitutional appointment,” he said.
MDC-T MPs on Tuesday called for Mr Zvoma’s dismissal, alleging that he does not respect legislators.
The party’s House of Assembly representative for Hwange Central, Mr Brian Tshuma gave notice to move a motion to that effect, saying Mr Zvoma was not conducting himself professionally.
The motion is now set for debate when the house resumes sitting next Tuesday.
Mr Zvoma said he has no bone to chew with parliamentarians and it is unfortunate that some MDC legislators lack depth on how the August House operates, adding he has contacted his lawyers to file a lawsuit against the lawmakers for bringing his name into disrepute.
