Zvimba East Ward 26 Councillor, Cde Francis Mkwangwariwa told farmers at a Field Day in Sun side Farm that the success of this years’ agricultural season that is set to see the resettled farmers contributing immensely to the nation’s bead basket, is a positive score for the country’s land reform programme.

While celebrating the bountiful crop which is almost ripe and is set for a bumper harvest this season, farmers in the area paid tribute to the initiative that saw them receiving inputs at the beginning of the season.

Over 3 000 families benefitted from an input scheme in Zvimba East initiated by Cde Mkwangwariwa at the beginning of this farming season.

ZANU PF has pursued a policy to ensure that all resettled farmers are capacitated to ensure sufficient food production meant to return Zimbabwe to its former bread basket status.
