Launching this season’s Zunde Ramambo/Isiphala seNkosi concept at a local seed house, Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development, Dr Joseph Made told traditional leaders that the US$45 million facility availed  by the Ministry of Finance is inadequate, calling upon other stakeholders to come on board in assisting the Zunde Ramambo concept.

Seed-co Managing Director, Mr. Denis Zaranyika said they will continue supporting the Zunde Ramambo concept to ensure food security at household levels while Windmill Factory Manager, Mr. Arthur Denya indicated that fertiliser will be availed to compliment the Zunde Ramambo concept.

Under the Zunde Ramambo concept, all traditional leaders got 100 kilogrammes of seed maize each with Windmill set to give them 70 tonnes of fertiliser this Friday.

The Zunde Ramambo concept is a social safety net programme run by traditional leaders designed to cushion the less privileged members of rural communities from food shortages.
