The third edition of the Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union (ZTISU) Paralympic games roar into life this Thursday in Mutare with two more disciplines added to bring to 14 the sport codes at the games.

The list where universities, teachers colleges and polytechnics will compete in third edition of the games.

ZTISU Development Officer, Steward Jonhasi said this year’s edition of the Paralympic games will introduce chess and pool on top of the usual athletics, darts, 5 aside and goal ball, discus, wheelchair basketball and javelin, among other sporting disciplines.

Each sub association to the ZTISU will field two athletes per event in a competition that will see national athletics association rules applying.

Team belvedere is upbeat it will collect more medals having managed 10 in last year’s edition in Bulawayo.

Coach, Pretty Maware revealed that the players have been preparing for the games since January with captain, Adam Sithole adding that morale is high in camp.

The ZTISU Paralympic games will run from this Thursday until Sunday at Mutare Boys High.
