The Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union (ZTISU) executive elections were held today at Kwekwe Sports Club with the former secretary general Olivarth Guvuriro assuming the reigns as the president of the association.

Former ZTISU secretary general Guvuriro curved himself a piece of history when he rose from the former position to assume the presidency at the tertiary institutions sports union.

Guvuriro a sport fanatic who thrives for the presence of tertiary institutions in sport said his election to the helm is an indication sub associations have faith in him in taking the sport to dizzy heights.

ZTISU is made up of teachers colleges, universities and polytechnics.

Outgoing president Martin Zibwi who could not contest challenged the new executive to take sport in tertiary institutions to another level and accept constructive criticism.

Justice Mhadzo was elected vice president, Edward Chekure filled Guvuriro’s former post while Belvedere’s Steward Jonasi and Abigirl Chipatiso retained their two respective posts of development officer and marketing officer.
