Chinese based telecommunications global firm, ZTE is eyeing increased investments worth millions of dollars in Zimbabwe.
A high powered ZTE delegation held talks on investments with government representatives and senior officials in the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services.
The company’s chief operating officer Mr Huang Dabi told the ZBC News after the meeting, they are looking on the possibilities of increasing investments in the ICT sectors.
“We are confident of viable investments in the country and we shall continue to invest more,” he said.
The visit by the ZTE delegation is an indication Zimbabwe is an attractive destination to global investors, according to the Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Cde Supa Mandiwanzira.
“Yes they are really committed to this country and this is good for the economy,” said Cde Mandiwanzira.
ZTE whose market capitalisation is worth billions of dollars is also looking for joint ventures with private and public listed companies.
