The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) has completed its debt market module, paving way for investors to raise funds for long term projects by issuing bonds.
The debt market on the local stock exchange has attracted interest from pension funds, financial institutions and banks, among other investors.
ZSE Acting CEO, Mr Martin Matanda said the debt or bond market will provide an alternative source of raising funds for several projects across the country.
“It is coming at the right time and we anticipate more returns and viability in the event it registers success,” he said.
According to the ZSE, a debt market involves the trading of government and corporate bonds to investors.
