Harare Province Police Spokesperson, Inspector James Sabau commended the Zanu PF party for not retaliating to the bombing incident that occurred in Mbare, where 8 people escaped unhurt when Zanu PF’s Mbare offices were petrol bombed by suspected MDC youths on Monday morning.

At least 2 people have been arrested over the incident and are in police custody. They are expected to appear in court soon.

Inspector Sabau said the environment is calm in all residential areas in Harare adding that police will remain on the ground to monitor the situation and ensure peace and stability.

Prior to the 2008 harmonised elections, 2 female police officers, who were based at Marimba Police Station, were seriously injured after their room was petrol bombed by suspected MDC supporters.
