The Bulawayo Volleyball Association (BVA) league week two action saw ZRP Raiders’ intentions of coming back to the league kicking off on a bang following their season long absence when they outdid bottom placed pre-season champions NUST Vikings 3-0 in an exciting match, in the women’s category.
The police side went on to record a similar 3-0 victory over Bulawayo Poly while their joint top side Luveve High School also got the better of the rebuilding defending champions Hurricanes 3-0.
In the men’s division, Luveve showed they were in a no nonsense mood dispatching Bulawayo Poly 3-0 while table topping and unbeaten NUST Vikings continued with their winning formula when they massacred hapless Khami Prison and third placed Highlanders 3-0 respectively.
Other matches saw the School Boys Milton getting an easy passage past TelOne with a 3-0 victory while Elephants were on the receiving end to ZRP Raiders 3-0.
BVA chairman William Mazwiro, described this year’s league as potentially one of the best ever considering the blistering start it has had.
“So far I’m excited. We are going far. We are pushing as witnessed by the turn up of players and supporters as well as teams. We are really getting into one of the best seasons that I think the BVA will ever have,” he said.
Action continues next week with NUST Vikings hoping to maintain their 4 match winning start in the men’s category with Luveve High and ZRP Raiders also seeking to outdo each other for the top spot in the women’s division.
